Politicians may avoid confronting economic reality, but people running company bottom lines have no choice.
Leading banker Matt Comyn risked the wrath of politicians, shock jocks and his own corporate relations people at The Australian Financial Review Banking Summit this week by speaking the truth about the tax system: it taxes too much in the wrong places, and sits at the centre of a reform log jam that’s lasted for decades.
