    Defence will trial its own internal consulting practice as the government freezes out the big firms from public sector work following the PwC tax leaks scandal.

    The consulting practice, to be staffed by Australian Defence Force members and public servants, will seek to reduce the need for “high-cost” external support at the department, which has proven a resilient and lucrative source of billings for the big consulting firms.
