    Global confectionary giant Cadbury has announced the long-anticipated sale of its $1 billion Australian beverage business, which includes local brands Schweppes, Cottee's and Spring Valley, as well as the Pepsi-Cola bottling franchise.

    Coca-Cola Amatil, which tried to buy Cadbury's Australian beverage operations for about $400 million a decade ago, may be among the bidders.
