Aged care sector supports many different models
We’re at a moment of truth for aged care and retirement living. This is due to the long-term policy and practical shift to a concept known as ageing in place, which is prompting a merger of retirement living and nursing home accommodation in many facilities.
Ageing in place supports older people to live out their retirement years and end-of-life in one spot. This could be a property that combines retirement living and aged care, including a variety of care models from none to some to fully assisted. Or it could be supporting someone to remain living in their home throughout their life.
