    A new iron ore export trade of 50 million tonnes a year from South Australia hinges on state government approval of two port developments to service new mine projects.

    One mine developer alone, Chinese-backed Centrex Metals , plans to start making project investment decisions worth more than $1 billion for its Eyre Peninsula joint venture by no later than 2012.
