    Partners have continued to desert law firm Baker McKenzie, with the global firm in discussions to take greater control over its Australian outpost amid cost-cutting measures and a drop-off in results.

    Pro bono practice head Kate Gillingham and banking partner Alastair Gourlay both handed in their resignations recently, continuing a string of departures. Mr Gourlay is expected to pop up at American rival Jones Day.
