The Adelaide Festival has broken it’s all-time attendance record, even as tickets sold were down amid the cost-of-living crisis.

On the eve of its closing weekend, the Festival organisers estimate 478,890 attendances have been made to all Adelaide Festival and Writer’s Week events, including Womadelaide, both free and ticketed. Some 30 per cent of attendees came from interstate, up from 25 per cent last year.
