Back from the brink, ImpediMed gears up for US launch

There was a time when ImpediMed chief executive Rick Carreon thought the medical device maker might not survive. A quintupling in the share price in the past 16 months is reassuring.

"When I first came here I remember I told the board unless we took dramatic steps the company was probably not going to make it. I took out half the staff within two weeks of starting and half the executives within three months," Carreon says.
