    CFMEU to Burke: Stay out of DP World waterfront dispute

    CFMEU national secretary Zach Smith has urged Workplace Relations Minister Tony Burke to stay out of the maritime union’s waterfront dispute with stevedore giant DP World, saying it would set a “dangerous” precedent.

    Mr Smith accused the majority Emirati-owned DP World of holding the local economy to ransom, and claimed intervention to stop legitimate industrial action would provide cover for others to follow suit.
