    Resources Minister Madeleine King has backed the development of the Narrabri gas field in NSW to compensate for dwindling reserves in Bass Strait, while the Queensland Labor government will on Friday dedicate $21 million to help fast-track four new projects in that state.

    As the Albanese government committed to the use of gas “through to 2050 and beyond” via the release of its Future Gas Strategy, the Victorian opposition called on the state Labor government to drop its trenchant resistance to gas and allow the development of its gas reserves and help pay down crippling debt.
