    ACT director of public prosecutions Shane Drumgold has slammed the inquiry into the rape trial of former Liberal staffer Bruce Lehrmann but acknowledged his position had become untenable in recent days.

    Mr Drumgold tendered his resignation on Friday after the final report of the inquiry led by former Queensland Supreme Court justice Walter Sofronoff, KC, was leaked and widely published in the media.
