    Scott Morrison has endorsed controversial Liberal candidate Katherine Deves’ concerns about transgender children, as a Christian lobby group urges the next parliament to deal with exemptions allowing religious schools to discriminate against LGBTQ students.

    The prime minister maintains gender reassignment surgery for young people is a “significant” and “serious” issue, even though the government’s own website states the procedure is restricted to people aged 18 and older.
