It can’t be easy running the Australian Chamber Orchestra through a pandemic. Managing director Richard Evans has had his hands full in recent years, not least with the securing and setting up of the ACO’s new headquarters and performance space in Sydney Harbour.

And that’s far from his only contribution to Australia’s performing arts sector. There’s also his elected, volunteer position as president of lobby group Live Performance Australia, his similarly unpaid chairmanship of the Confederation of Australian International Arts Festivals, and his operation of consultancy REA (no relation to the property classifieds titan), which among other things helps cultural organisations fill leadership positions.
