The unis turning students into entrepreneurs (riding unicorns)

The universities of Sydney and NSW are Australia’s most successful start-up factories, having produced 1800 between them since 1990, including 35 unicorns.

New data reveals the two institutions go head-to-head in the number of start-up founders they have produced – 806 to Sydney, 757 to UNSW – while the scales tip in the latter’s favour when it comes to the number that have raised more than $10 million. UNSW can claim 93 to Sydney’s 85.
