    By attacking Israel with drones, cruise and ballistic missiles Iran has not just escalated the Gaza conflict, it has unleashed forces that will now reverberate on the regime.

    While damage and injuries appear to have been minimal and there are hallmarks of a carefully calculated attack designed to appease a domestic constituency as much as anything else, Israel will respond with Western support.
