    Patrick Dodson said Australia has to reconsider its national integrity and honour after the defeat of the Voice to parliament referendum, as he announced his retirement from parliament because of illness.

    The man known as the Father of Reconciliation said serious divisions in the community were the legacy of the No campaign’s success at the October referendum, which was rejected in the national vote and in every state and territory except the ACT.
