    The Albanese government says Kevin Rudd will remain Australia’s ambassador to the United States next year, even if Donald Trump returns to power in the November presidential election.

    After Mr Trump suggested he may not deal with Mr Rudd due to previous personal attacks on him by the former prime minister, both Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong stood behind Mr Rudd who has only been in Washington a year.
