Lauren Cranston jailed for eight years for Plutus tax fraud

The daughter of a former deputy tax commissioner has been sentenced to at least five years in jail for her role in one of Australia’s largest tax frauds after the judge found she had no remorse for her actions.

Supreme Court Justice Anthony Payne sentenced Lauren Cranston, 30, to a total of eight years’ prison, five years non-parole, for conspiring with others, including her brother, Adam, to defraud the Commonwealth of more than $105 million and then laundering the money for the conspirators.
