Lihir Gold chief executive Arthur Hood said predictions that the price of gold would hit $US1500 per ounce were "perfectly achievable" Gold rose to a record $US1062.70 an ounce in New York last week. Mr Hood told the ABC's Inside Business program that Lihir was focused on organic growth rather than acquisitions. Michael Smith
