Australia’s sharemarket is poised to recover some of Friday’s losses at the opening bell on Monday, as traders brace for a more hawkish assessment of the US monetary policy outlook from Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell.

ASX futures indicate the benchmark is poised to open 0.3 per cent higher from its last close of 7575.9, bouncing back from its 1.4 per cent sell-off.
