New rules to stop NDIS participants from overspending on their plans will help stem costs for the $42 billion scheme, but will need to be urgently applied to cap the 10 per cent-plus annual growth in plan costs, say experts.
New legislative powers to let NDIS officials step in and administer plans were introduced into parliament Wednesday. This is to thwart unscrupulous providers encouraging disabled people to spend their plans to get a new one.
