Unis must get better at equity, skills and experience: Clare

Education Minister Jason Clare says the only way to meet the rapid growth in jobs requiring university qualifications in the coming decades is to enrol more young people from outer suburbs and the regions in the tertiary system, and to ensure they succeed.
An interim review into higher education released by Mr Clare on Wednesday says universities must do better at enrolling students from disadvantaged backgrounds, provide safer student experiences and develop improved work-related skills among graduates.
