Ford cuts hit parts maker

Ford Australia has slashed its production schedules by 10 per cent for the second half of 1997 in a bid to bring stocks into line with lower demand for the Falcon range.
The Ford cuts, and continued poor demand in the housing market, yesterday forced automotive parts supplier National Consolidated Ltd to warn shareholders that profits will be lower than anticipated in calendar 1997.
