Macquarie has clambered back on top in a drawn-out takeover tussle for orchard landlord Vitalharvest, lifting its offer by 1¢ to $1.26 per unit to outbid, yet again, rival Roc Partners.

The Macquarie rejoinder was issued on Friday three hours after Roc itself trumped the previous Macquarie offer of $1.24 per unit, with a $1.25 bid.
