    Australia considers voting yes on Palestine’s UN bid

    Australia was weighing a yes vote overnight on Palestine’s membership of the United Nations, as diplomats were locked in negotiations over the wording of the resolution.

    Ahead of the vote, which was due to be held early on Saturday morning (AEST), Foreign Minister Penny Wong said Australia was consulting closely with like-minded allies and was looking for a resolution that progressed the two-state solution.
