Sydney petrol hits record as traders brace for Israel retaliation

The price of petrol has hit a record high in Sydney at the same time as a deteriorating situation in the Middle East threatens to send Brent Crude even higher.
The average price of regular unleaded petrol reached $2.23 a litre in Sydney on Monday afternoon, according to figures compiled by the NRMA, from $2 this time last week.
